Silk prices have been falling this year. At the end of September, Zhejiang Mid-Autumn cocoon acquisition just ended.
In Jiaxing, for example, the purchase price of Mid-Autumn cocoons has dropped by 30 percent, from 1,860 yuan per hundredweight (50 kilograms) last year to 1,300 yuan per hundredweight.
Silk quilt price
It won't go up this year
Every year to the end of September and the beginning of October, the sales season of silk quilt began to start. In the past three or four years, continuous price increases seem to have become a common thing for home textile brands. But most brands have no plans to raise prices this year.
In the home textile department of a shopping mall in Hangzhou, silk quilt has been placed in an obvious position. Customers buy the most 2kg of ordinary silk quilt, the price is generally between 1800 yuan and 3000 yuan after discount, and the same as last year. A salesman said that after "eleven" in previous years, the price of silk will generally rise a rise, and this year has not received the notice of the company's price increase.
"There is no plan to raise the price of silk quilts and quilts." Liu Tian, deputy general manager of Changxiangzhi, said that in the past, the price of raw materials was the main reason for the repeated rise in silk, but this year, the price of raw materials is relatively stable, and the prices of domestic cotton and imported cotton are also falling, which also suppressed the power of silk prices.
The sale of silk quilts has started in the Silk City near the Stadium Road in Hangzhou. A shopkeeper said he had not yet received any notice from the manufacturer of the price increase, and the price was the same as last year.
However, Tongxiang Zhouquan Tiangong silk quilt factory production of "royal workshop" silk is intended to rise about 10 yuan per catty from next weekend. "Royal Workshop" silk is sold every year in the City Express "happy group purchase" at an affordable factory price. Mr. Hong, the person in charge of the Hangzhou sales branch, explained that the increase of about 10 yuan per catty was because of the impact of the five waters co-governance, and the production cost of small enterprises was slightly increased. After this round of price adjustment, the 2 kg bag of silk was raised from the original 1088 yuan to 1168 yuan, and the 2.5 kg bag was raised from the original 1320 yuan to 1420 yuan. Mr. Hong said that compared with the home textile brand in the mall, the price of the "royal workshop" itself is relatively low, so it is more sensitive to changes in production costs.
Same bed 2 kg packed with silk quilt
The cost has risen nearly 1.7 times in three years
Four years ago, the price of a 2-kilogram bed of silk quilt was generally less than 800 yuan. In recent years, the price of silk quilt has increased by 20% to 30% annually. This year, the same 2 kg of brand silk quilt, the price after the discount in the mall is generally more than 2200 yuan. After 2011, when the price increase was the most ferocious, some home textile brands even launched high-end silk quilts at a discount of 10,000 yuan.
Mr. Hong said that in 2010, the price of a 2kg silk was 548 yuan, and in 2012, the same silk was increased to 888 yuan, an increase of more than 60% in two years. Last year it rose again to 1,088 yuan.
Industry insiders said that the price of raw materials is undoubtedly the main factor promoting the price of silk. The person in charge of a home textile brand said that taking the price of white silk as an example, in early 2009, the price of domestic 4a-grade white silk was 160,000 yuan/ton, which opened this year
The beginning of crazy rise, by the 2010 spring cocoon listing season, the price of white silk rose to 340,000 yuan/ton. In July 2011, the price soared again to 430,000 yuan/ton. Since then, although the price of white silk has fallen, it rose to a high of 400,000 yuan/ton again last year.
After sitting on a high of 400,000 yuan/ton, the silk price began to weaken and is currently maintained at 320,000 to 330,000 yuan/ton. "In 2009, the domestic price of raw silk was only 160,000 yuan/ton, equivalent to 160 yuan/kg. In 2011, the craziest year, the price was around 430,000 yuan/ton, equivalent to 430 yuan/kg." The person in charge calculated an account, the same bed of 2kg of silk quilt, the cost difference of the three years from 2009 to 2011 was 540 yuan, an increase of nearly 1.7 times.
Silk prices fluctuate wildly
Zhejiang silk industry suffered
A quilt two or three thousand yuan, the price of silk has risen again and again, has exceeded the psychological price of many people. Afraid of affecting the final sales, a home textile brand did not raise the price of silk last year, but taking into account the price increase of raw materials, the discount was increased from the original 50% to 60%. The price actually went up by 10%.
"The soaring price of silk has affected the survival of the silk industry." Said Fei Jianming, chairman of Hangzhou Jinfuchun Silk Women's Wear Co., LTD and president of Hangzhou Silk Industry Association. The 2014 China International Silk Expo officially opened today, and the large fluctuations in silk prices have become the most concerned topic of many silk enterprises in Zhejiang.
"Although the current silk price is falling, but enterprise exports are still affected by the after-effects of high silk prices in the early period." Fei Jianming said, "In my experience, every time the price of silk rises, it will cause a sharp decline in orders and a serious loss of customers."
China's export of silk commodities has experienced a large decline in the first half of this year. According to statistics, from January to June this year, the export value of China's real silk commodities fell by 15.11%, of which the export value of silk manufactured goods and silk garments fell sharply by 23.38% and 28.12% respectively; At the same time, the number of China's silk garment exports dropped by 74.31%.
Industry analysts believe that it is precisely because China's labor costs and raw material prices have pushed up the price of real silk goods, and the export unit price of silk clothing has risen 173.90% year-on-year since this year. The more unit prices rose year-on-year, the more exports fell. In the first half of the year, China's silk clothing lost about 76% of the market share in Asia and ASEAN, and lost about 50% of the market share in Europe and the United States.
